Shaw, Susan Elizabeth
The funeral has taken place of Susan Shaw of Hartford, who died on July 13 2005 aged 50 years. Susan was born in Huyton, near Liverpool and educated at Prescot Grammar School For Girls where she developed a love of music, sport and mathematics. During childhood she was an enthusiastic member of St. Gabriel's Church Choir and the Girl Guides. She was also a talented tennis and hockey player. After `A' levels she attended Ripon C. of E. Teacher Training College before moving to her first teaching post at Woodford Lodge Comprehensive School, Winsford, in 1976. After two years Sue won promotion and moved to Middlewich High School as second in the Maths Department. She was to remain at Middlewich for the remainder of her teaching career, moving smoothly into and out of a number of management roles. Susan married Graham in 1976 and they started married life by moving to Hartford, where Susan lived for the rest of her life. She made a huge contribution to 1st Hartford Scout Group first as a warranted Venture Scout Leader and later as the Scout Group Treasurer. Susan also served for many years as a governor of Middlewich High School and was an active member of the PTA at both Middlewich and Hartford High School where her children Andrew and Elizabeth were educated. She was involved with many aspects of community life in Hartford and had a wide circle of friends. Entertaining and cooking for friends were just two of her many interests. Susan leaves behind her husband, Graham and children Andrew and Elizabeth plus her brother, Michael. She led life to the full and all who knew and loved her will miss her very much. The funeral service was at St John's Church, Hartford, conducted by the Rev. George Agar, followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. As well as family floral tributes, donations for the Christie Hospital Appeal and Macmillan Nurses were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Greenacre Funeral Home, Northwich.
