The funeral was held recently for the late Margaret Teece of Leftwich who died on 9th August 2005 aged 88 years. Margaret was born in Northwich on 17th July 1917, her parents were Ernie and Bessie Gammond. She was brought up in Winnington and attended Winnington C P School and later Sir John Deane’s Grammar School. She met Tom Teece he was a C.P.O. in the Royal Navy, they married at St Mary’s Parish Church, Weaverham on 22nd June 1940. They settled in Weaverham until 1961 when they moved to Winnington, before moving to Leftwich in 1994. Tom left the Royal Navy in the late 1940’s and went to work at I.C.I. as Personnel Officer, he passed away in February 2004 aged 90 years. Margaret worked for Mid-Cheshire Electricity Co. as a cookery demonstrator as a young woman before having children. From the late 1960’s until the late seventies she worked at Bratt & Evans. Margaret liked sewing, embroidery, cooking, reading and was a keen gardener, keeping active until her death. She also enjoyed sport, particularly tennis, being a great fan of Wimbledon and had a lifelong interest in cricket. She was a family person and made several trips to Australia, to visit her son and grandchildren there. Margaret leaves her four sons Roger, Phil (Australia), Geoff and Dave, grandchildren Dan, Andy, Mike & Bill (Australia), David, Anna, Johanna and Laura and great grandson Sam (Australia). In addition to family floral tributes, donations were received for Cancer Research UK. The service and committal were held at Altrincham Crematorium, conducted by Rev Andy Greenhough.
