The service was held at Northwich Cemetery Chapel on 14th March for the late Hilda Wilding of Northwich who died on 3rd March 2005 aged 85 years. Hilda was born in Warrington Road, Northwich to the late Thomas and Esther Elizzie Burgess. She was brought up in Northwich, with her three brothers and two sisters, and attended Timber Lane School. Hilda married William Wilding on 20th July 1940 at St Helenís Parish Church, Northwich, they settled in Paradise Street before moving to Vicarage Walk, Northwich, William died in 2002. While the men were at war Hilda packed Bicarbonate of Soda at I.C.I. she later worked at Knutsford Motors and at Nat West Bank. Her interests included knitting, cooking, watching snooker especially her favourite player Jimmy White. She also enjoyed looking after her pets and going on holiday. Hilda is survived by her sons Tony and David, daughters Beryl and Brenda, brother Ron and sister Madge. The service at the Cemetery Chapel was conducted by Rev Adam Friend prior to interment at Northwich Cemetery.
