The funeral was held recently for the late Albert Astbury of Northwich who died on 26th September 2005 aged 73 years. Albert was born in Northwich, the youngest child of the late Edward and Dora Astbury, who had seven other children. He was brought up in Northwich, where he attended Witton Boys School. He married his wife Myfanwy on 6th June 1953 at Lach Dennis Church. They settled in Lach Dennis before moving to Northwich. During the war Albert completed his two years National Service. He was the youngest diver, aged 17 years, employed at Weaver Navigation later he was a H.G.V. driver at Harris Road Service. Albert enjoyed walking and cycling, he was also a keen gardener and liked singing. He leaves his wife Myfanwy (Vanny), three children, six grandchildren and a sister. The Service at St Helenís Parish Church, Northwich was conducted by Rev Paul Dawson and was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium.
