Marchant, Ernest Anthony (Tony)
The funeral has taken place of Ernest Anthony (Tony) Marchant of Tabley who died on 26th October 2005 aged 67 years. Tony was born in Gorton in 1938 and moved to Wythenshawe when he was 7 years old. He had seven sisters and two brothers. He attended Sharston School. On leaving school he became an apprentice painter and decorator and continued working as a painter and decorator for many years. He married Margaret in Salford and they went to live in Mobberley, then Pickmere, until finally settling in Tabley where they lived for the past 38 years. Tony worked at I.C.I. Lostock as a Shift Process Operator. After his early retirement he enjoyed D.I.Y. and gardening. He had a caravan on Anglesey where he spent time relaxing and watercolour painting. He was a great family man who considered his family as his hobby. Tony leaves his loving wife Margaret and sons Michael and Anthony. He was a dear father-in-law to Angela and Erica, beloved grandad of Nicola, Heather, Paul, Ashley and Ryan and great grandad of Jonathan, Ryan and Joel. He will be sadly missed by all of them. Family and friends attended the funeral service and committal at Altrincham Crematorium which was officiated by Rev Michael Cavanagh.
