Thomas, David (Davey)
The funeral has taken place of David (Davey) Thomas of Winnington who passed away on 21st December 2005 aged 46 years. He was the much loved son of Marion and Gwilym Thomas and brother to Yvonne and Mairi. Davey was born in St Asaph on 7th June 1959. Unfortunately at the age of 6 months he became ill with meningitis and from that time he needed 24 hour care. He returned to Northwich when he was aged eight years and after spending a short time in Rudheath with his nana, went to live at Winnington with his parents and baby sister Yvonne. Mairi was born five years later. Davey had wonderful love and care from everyone who had contact with him; at Hartford Hill, then Castle Leigh and Firdale Day Centres, also at The Bungalow where he received respite care, also the transport drivers. David leaves his mum and dad, sisters Yvonne and Mairi, nieces Emma, Aimee and Hannah and nephew Adam, who all adored him. The service was held at Shurlach Methodist Chapel, Rudheath conducted by Rev David Goodwin, before interment at Dane Valley Cemetery. Family flowers were received and donations for Castle Leigh and Firdale Centres, also The Bungalow.
