Gregory, Charles (Charlie)
The funeral was held on 23rd January for the late Charles Gregory of Barnton who died on 15th January 2006 aged 81 years. Charles was born in Rudheath to the late Abraham and Mary Gregory and he had four brothers and three sisters. He was brought up in Billinge Green and attended school in Rudheath. He married Elsie at St Mary’s Church, Great Budworth on 17th July 1948 and they settled in Barnton. From 1943 to 1947 Charles was in the Royal Artillery and served in Europe and Palestine. Later he was employed as a builder for the Gas Board, then he worked at his own business. His interests were mainly his work and he carried on working until he was 73. He is survived by his wife Elsie, two sons and daughters in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren and two sisters Betty and Faye. The service was held at Great Budworth Parish Church, conducted by Rev Alec Brown and was followed by interment in the Churchyard. As well as family floral tributes donations were received for St. Luke’s Hospice. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Greenacre Funeral Home, Northwich.
