Horton, William Percival (Percy)

The funeral was held on 9th February for the late William Percival Horton who died on 1st February 2006 aged 76 years. William was born in Northwich, the elder of two boys born to the late Harriet Alice and Henry Horton. He was brought up in Northwich and attended school in Rudheath. He married Winifred Ann Higgins in September 1950 at St Wilfridís R C Church. They settled in William Street, Northwich and had a grocerís shop on Middlewich Road and then they moved to Leftwich. Percy was widowed in 2002. He was employed as a clerk at Joseph Parks Steelworks, before moving to N.N.C. He enjoyed gardening, going on holiday and spending time with his family. He was an honorary member of Rudheath Social Club. He is survived by his son Stephen, daughter Shirley and son-in-law Adam, grandchildren and great grandchildren, also his brother Cyril. The service was held at St Helenís Parish Church, Northwich and was followed by interment at Northwich Cemetery, conducted by Rev Paul Dawson. In addition to family floral tributes, donations were received for Cancer Research UK and St Lukeís Hospice. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Greenacre Funeral Home, Northwich.
