Jones, David Arthur
The funeral was held on 28th February for the late David Arthur Jones of Northwich who died on 19th February 2006 aged 63 years. David was born in Northwich, the youngest of three sons, of the late Ann & Jack Jones, his brother Michael predeceased him. David grew up in Northwich and attended St Wilfrid’s School until he was 15. He met and later married Mavis on 28th September 1963 at Runcorn Registry Office, followed by a Blessing at St Wilfrid’s R C Church, Northwich. They settled first at Weaverham, before moving to Greenbank where they lived for 43 years. David first worked at Parks’ Steelworks, he continued in the construction trade, as a crane driver for various employers as well as being self employed. His last job was at Biggar Construction. He enjoyed snooker and darts and was a football fan, especially of Northwich Victoria Football Club. He also liked to spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife Mavis, daughters Karen and Christine, sons Michael and David, son-in-law Malcolm, daughters-in-law Adele and Fiona, grandchildren Stephanie, Kirsten, Joshua, Dominic, Stacey, Melissa, twins Phoebe and Olivia, great grandchildren Jack and Madeline and his brother Jackie. The funeral was attended by family members, friends and work colleagues, both past and present. The service at St Wilfrid’s R C Church, conducted by Canon P Healey, was followed by committal at Walton Lea Crematorium. In addition to family floral tributes, donations were received for Northwich Victoria Trust Fund.
