On Wednesday 28th December 2022, John sadly passed away after the diseases of cancer and Alzheimer's became too much for him to suffer. He was 84 years old, had been fit and healthy for much of his lfe. The beloved wife of Barbara, father of Kevin and Nigel, father-in-law of Emily and Colette, and adored Grandpa of William and Thomas, Lilly and Mia.
He was born in Harriseahead in 1938, the fifth of six children, he left school at 15 and trained as a joiner. He built many houses in his life as a builder including his wedding present to Barbara - 75 Waggs Road in Congleton. He spent most of his life and brought up his family in Congleton, moved to Mow Cop in 2002, and Hartford 5 years ago.
John was warm, sunny and friendly, enjoyed talking with others and finding humour in everyday life along with dancing, cruising, singing hymns (preferbly by Wesley!) and growing fuschias, tomatoes and his abundant dahlias. He will be missed enormously by his family and friends alike.
