Rebecca Simmons

Rebecca tragically and unexpectedly passed away at the age of only 30 on 6 February 2024.

Family knew her as Bex or Bexi, and friends as Becca. She only got her full name when she was in trouble….which wasn’t very often.

Right from her early years she faced so many health battles. Seeing her go through the numerous operations and long stays in hospitals was so hard for all the family to watch as she suffered and of course much harder for her to experience, but each time she seemed to find the strength to fight through. Life had dealt her an unfair hand but she was determined to keep pursuing her dream of becoming a lawyer and never gave up on her Law Degree which she finally achieved after 5 hard years. It was no wonder she was such an avid fan of TV crime dramas always trying to work out ‘who dun it’

But those illnesses didn’t define her. She was a caring and beautiful human being much loved by all who came into contact with her. She had a wonderful relationship with her nephews Brandon and Roo and her ‘mini me’ niece, Penny. Spending time with them, taking them out for fun days. As the youngest of our three siblings she was always there to help Katie her older sister and brother Michael too when they needed it. Despite her own problems she frequently helped others through various support groups. Many will have benefited from her sharing her knowledge and experience.

She surprised us many times over the years, developing an interest in football and playing for a short time for Manchester City Junior Girls team. She ended up following the main team of course. She even enjoyed attending boxing events recently. Music was a central part of her life too. She had a beautiful voice and was never afraid to perform in front of people in music clubs and open mic nights.

Bex may have been small in stature, but she's left such a big hole in our hearts and our lives. As a family we feel truly blessed to have had 30 years of wonderful memories with our very own Disney Princess'

So rest now our dear Bex ….Always in our hearts and in our thoughts
